A myriad of rivers, lakes, gorges and waterfalls, ranging from the calm to the spectacular, make the Corrèze the perfect holiday destination for water-based activities.

• Discover ponds in the countryside around Pompadour, peat bogs on the Plateau de Millevaches moors, streams meandering through the wooded hills of Les Monédières, dolines (clay-floored depressions) on the Causse Corrézien, roaring waterfalls in Gimel and Murel and artificial lakes offering a whole range of water sports from Bort-les-Orgues to Treignac.

• And then there are the rivers which give the département its north-east to south-west diagonal shape: the Vézère, for fishing and kayaking enthusiasts, the Corrèze, running through the main towns, and the famous Dordogne.
