Château de Pompadour

In 1745, Pompadour was given, along with the title Marquise, to the famous mistress of Louis XV. Open to the public: - part of the castle, the gardens, the Marquise stables and the Orangery, - Le Haras National de Pompadour (National Stud), cradle of the Anglo-Arab breed, - La Jumenterie Nationale de la Rivière (National Mare Farm), unique in France, - the Hippodrome, a category 1-rated steeplechase course, considered to be one of the most beautiful and technically challenging in France (guided tours for groups). Open all year round, except Sundays and Mondays from November to March outside of school holidays. Opening times vary. Guided tours for groups by prior arrangement. Entrance fee. Combined passport ticket for 2-3 sights.
