Château de Val

Feudal fortress started in 1440 by the d’Estaing family. Art exhibitions are held in the castle from mid-March to mid-October. A 15C Gothic chapel in the main courtyard is dedicated to St Blaise. Musical concerts take place in the castle courtyard in July and August on Wednesdays at 9pm. Guided tours daily, 10am-12.30pm and 2-6.30pm, from 15 June to 15 September; 10am-noon and 2-5.30pm, from 1 April to 14 June and 16 September to 14 October. Closed Tuesdays out of season. Open 2-5.30pm during the November, Christmas and February school holidays. Entrance fee.
