Built by St Étienne and his companions in the 12C and affiliated to the Cistercian order in 1147, the abbey comprises several monastic buildings which house a chapter room, scriptorium, kitchen and dormitory. A fishpond, fountain and the garden of the 12C cloisters may also be visited. Guided tour of the monastic buildings:- December, January, February and March, saturday and sunday (by prior arrangement on weekdays) at 3.30pm, - April and November, every day (except Monday) at 3.30pm; during the Easter holidays, daily (except Sunday mornings and Monday mornings) at 11am and 3.30pm, - 1 May to 30 June and 16 September to 31 October, daily at 11am and 3.30pm (except Sunday mornings),- 1 July to 15 September, daily at 11am, 3pm and 4pm (except Sunday mornings and Monday mornings). Entrance fee. Visits for groups throughout the year by prior arrangement.
