Gallo-Roman oppidum of Puy du Tour

This Gallic oppidum was excavated at the beginning of the 20C (reconstruction of a Gallic hut at the top of the oppidum). The results of these excavations can be seen at the "Maison du Patrimoine" in Argentat and in Monceaux-sur-Dordogne (only in summer). The site occupies a strategic position that once controlled the trade route between Armorica (Brittany) and the Mediterranean. Panoramic view of the Dordogne valley.
