Unique in Europe, the Travassac slate quarries offer an opportunity to explore an unusual, magical site with cliffs in excess of 100m high. Learn about the skills and techniques of the quarry workers, along with the history of this village and its slate quarries. Open: - May, June, September and October: Sundays and public holidays, 2-6pm (guided tours every half hour from 2.30-5.30pm) - 1 July to 31 August, daily, 10am-noon and 2-6pm (guided tours every 30min from 10.30-11.30am and 2.30-5.30pm). - April to November: guided tours for groups by prior arrangement based on a minimum of 20 participants.
