The Plateau de Millevaches is renowned for the quality and colour of its granite: the pink granite of Pérols and the ochre granite of Bugeat. Housed in the tourist office, the Maison du Granit examines the history of this exceptional stone, with exhibits relating to geology, granite quarries and stone cutting, and a permanent exhibition of granite-related objects. The centre also organises granite-themed tours, which visit buildings and craftsmen who work with granite. Open Monday to Saturday, 9am-noon and 4-7pm; Sunday, 10am-noon in July–August.
