The Perigord Walnut Route A.O.C.

The Perigord Walnut Route winds its way through the walnut growing landscapes of the Corrèze, Lot and Dordogne valleys, offering a choice of four main itineraries based around four A.O.C. Noix du Périgord varieties:Franquette, Grandjean, Corne and Marbot. A.O.C. (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) products include fresh walnuts, dried walnutsand shelled walnuts. Places offering visits and activities such as walnut factories, museums, distilleries, local markets and restaurants provide an insight into the Périgord Walnutwhich has provided the inspiration for fairytales and legends over the centuries, as well as an opportunity to meet those men and women who make their living from it.
