Ussel

Situated on the final spur of the Plateau de Millevaches, between Diège and Sarsonne, Ussel is a fine example of the Corrèze's medieval past. This old town was once a judicial and ducal centre and the seat of the seneschal of Ventadour; the lords of Ventadour built a town mansion here in the 16C. The old town is home to Renaissance-style houses, a museum and churches housing some fine examples of religious art.
